Safety Motivational Speakers Need Passion to Improve Safety
Safety Motivational Speakers – Passion and Safety
One of the things I love about being a safety speaker is that it is a subject that lends itself to passion. How often have you heard a safety talk that was flat and didn’t really make a point? Sadly, I suspect that is more the norm in the field of safety. There are some great toolbox teaching aids out there. The danger is if you are giving a “canned” safety talk it doesn’t come across the same as a personal safety story. It troubles me that a topic that can save lives is so often presented as boring. Safety talks save lives and bring people home every day.
Safety Motivational Speakers Share Stories
Safety motivational speakers can share others personal safety stories with passion. I know that not everyone has the experience or the time to come up with their own safety talk each week. So how can you effectively use company safety bulletins and lessons to help people work safely? One technique is to read over the bulletin and make notes and bullet points that you can use when you give the presentation. This allows you to cover the subject without just reading it to your audience.
Safety motivational speakers learn lessons from other communicators. I once listened to a famous national talk show host. Someone called in and wanted to read something to him. He wouldn’t let the person read it because he knew it would lack passion. Instead, he had the person tell him about the article instead of reading it. The result was outstanding – the caller’s passion came out and that is what makes for a better presentation and more effective communication. Great safety motivational speakers will learn a story and tell it in their own words conveying the necessary passion.
Speaking of my passion for sharing safety around the world… The only way I get the privilege of sharing safety with others is if you continue to bring me out to your locations to speak to your employees. I would greatly appreciate your consideration to bring me out to your site for your next safety meeting.
