More thoughts on Safety Leaders by safety speaker John Drebinger

Posted by John Drebinger |

Two blog entries ago, I talked about two types of safety leaders. The second type of safety leader is by choice. These are the leaders who volunteer to be on safety committees or safety teams. If you are one of these leaders, I would like to congratulate you on your commitment to help your fellow workers get home safely every day. As a safety speaker I have the privilege of meeting many safety leaders.

Safety team members multiply the effectiveness of the safety professionals at your site. One element you contribute as a safety team member is that you are one of the people doing the work. You have a perspective that only an employee can have. You not only can help point out potential hazards, you find solutions based upon your experience.

I hope each and every safety leader out there appreciates that you are making a significant difference in the lives of your employees and their families and on their behalf, I thank you for your service.
