Special Warning Tomorrow is April Fools Day by safety speaker John Drebinger

Posted by John Drebinger |

I’m sure you will be the target of several April Fools Day jokes or stories. Hopefully everyone will be safe and consider the consequences of their creativity. I remember at summer camp in the Boy Scouts we were known for our pranks. Even then safety was a part of my training. The camp had a set of rules when it came to camp pranks. You could not damage property, hurt people or interfere with the program of the Scouts at camp.

One of my favorites was the day a few of us were in the dinning hall late at night and we decided to weight or fix the wheel the camp director spun every meal that determined who would clean up their table. A small wheel with 8 numbers on it was easy prey for us. We attached a couple of washers on the back which would force the wheel to stop on the number 4.

The next morning we all sat anywhere beside seat 4. It was great the wheel spun and then actually went backwards which resulted in much laughter.

The safety point is that not everyone thinks of consequences of a prank and we don’t want anyone to be hurt.

As a safety speaker you can use stories just like the one above to illustrate a safety point. If you want to learn how to develop and use stories call to get information about my Dynamic Presentations Institute at 209-747-2770
