Safety Topics – Warnings and Trip Hazards! by Safety Speaker Drebinger

Posted by John Drebinger |

As I was traveling down the highway from Sacramento to Los Angeles two weeks ago to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday I saw an interesting hazard. My wife Karen and I stopped at a fast food restaurant to get something to drink and to use the restroom. I opened the door to the men’s room and almost fell as in the doorway was a yellow caution wet floor sign. How ironic I almost tripped over the sign announcing the trip hazard. As a safety speaker you notice more hazards.

I stopped quickly and the person behind me moved the sign so I could move forward. How many places have you been to where someone clearly believed a warning sign would make the area safe?

Remind people of the importance of removing the hazard when possible and when marking a hazard don’t make the situation worse.

Have a safe day.
